Elsie's Press Cuttings, Page 21. The Sketch, July 14th, 1926. La Demoiselle Élue. Angels at Daly's The production of "La Demoiselle Élue" at Miss Lily Elsie's Matinee in aid of the deaf and dumb was notable not only for its excellence, but on account of the number of lovely Society women who appeared in it. Elsewhere we give a photograph of Lady Diana Cooper as the Madonna. Miss Lily Elsie left the stage on her marriage to Major Ian Bullough, and now only makes rare appearances in the cause of charity. "La Demoiselle Élue," which has twice before been given successfully by amateurs, was a feature of Miss Elsie's matinee at Daly's last week in aid of the deaf and dumb. |
